I just uploaded three new stories, the first story,. "Virtual Reality" was written by Dr. Papineni
Sivasankar, and "My Song" by P. Sathyavathi, both translated by Sharada (Australia). The
third story, "The Thief" was written by Tilak, and translated by Vaidehi Sasidhar..
Recently, while surfing the web, I came across a reference to Thulika by another site. Out of
curiosity, I visited the site and was pleasantly surprised to note their review of Thulika as "an
impressive undertaking which will be of interest to scholars of Indian literature and which
makes available to a wider audience a previously hidden body of work." For details click on

In the past, I have seen my articles quoted on a few academic web sites. The entry on Intute
Home affirms my belief that there is a need to provide information on Telugu literature to
scholars and readers outside India, who are interested in the stories from Andhra Pradesh.
And Thulika is catering to that group of scholars and readers.
That puts a greater responsibility on me in the process of selection and preparation of
articles for publication on Thulika. I hope to live up to that expectation.
Keeping that in mind, I am working on building a translation team.
As most of you may be aware, Dr. Sharada, Adelaide, Australia, a physicist by profession,
has been translating stories for us since its (Thulika's) inception. Sharada writes original
short stories in Telugu and English. Some of her stories have won prizes. She also runs a
bi-weekly feature column, telupu - nalupu [black and white] on a popular e-zine,
www.apweekly.com. I am grateful to Sharada for giving her translations to Thulika.
A second writer to offer to translate stories and write critical essays for Thulika is Dr. Vaidehi
Sasidhar. Vaidehi, a physician, writes poetry in Telugu and critical essays in Telugu and
English. She is also editor for poetry section of long-standing, print magazine, Telugu jyoti,
published from New Jersey, USA. I am grateful to Vaidehi for agreeing to give her
translations to Thulika.
S. Narayana Swamy, an engineer, and a well-known writer of short stories and poetry,
offered to translate for Thulika. He serves on the editorial board of eemaata.com, a highly
reputable e-magazine in North America. Readers may have read his recent translation,
Three million rupee bet, [mupphai lakshala pandem by Arudra]. Narayana Swamy, also
known as kottapali, commands great respect among Telugu bloggers. I am excited and
looking forward to his contributions.
