On speaking Telugu in English medium schools:

Regarding fining in schools [in Andhra Pradesh].. I want to tell you something..

I studied in an English medium school in Kakinada, East Godavari District. There, we were given severe punishment if we talk in Telugu. I remember being beaten and sometimes made to stand outside the classroo while other children watch(it is a type of punishment to reform us by sense of shame) I was so scared to talk in English, I kept mum in the school. Even now, I don’t talk much for some reason. I do not know good English but now, I have no other option but learn! No regrets!
